MD WAMC/School List Help. Non Traditional Applicant

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Without an actual MCAT score it is difficult to evaluate your list. Post your score here when available. Do you have any clinical volunteering or employment hours with patient contact ?

Thank you!

My current volunteer position has some patient contact, although it is admiditly minimal. My employment was entirely non-clinical.

It would help your chances if you can accumulate 200+ hours of clinical volunteering with patient contact.

Thank you for the advice! I will reach out to the coordinator to see if I can transition to more of a direct patient contact role at the current clinic. These roles exist there and I think that staying at that clinic would help with continuity.

@Faha If I manage to get the 200+ hrs of clinical experience and do reasonably well on the MCAT, do you think that I would stand a chance this cycle or would it be advantageous to take a year and get more full-time clinical experience (post MPH)?

200 hours should be adequate. It is your MCAT score that will determine which schools you can apply to. Post your score here when available.
