TX resident trying to solidify my school list. I already have a list of DO schools, I just need help building/solidifying my MD schools. I have worked in data science and health tech for the past four years and recently switched back to a more clinical/medical role.

1. GPA: cGPA: 3.7/ sGPA: 3.4

2. MCAT: 505 (128/121/126/130)

3. TX Resident

4. URM
: African American Female

5. Undergrad Institution: Ivy Undergrad on Pre-Health Track

6. Clinical Experience:
Non-paid clinical experience: 500 hours at 2 different hospitals

7. Research Experience:
500 hours total. Did a program that allowed me to create a poster project at the end and participated in undergraduate research.

8. Shadowing: 200 hours (family medicine/pediatrics)

9. Non-clinical volunteering:
Local garden: 50 hours
Program Mentorship (think programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters) : 350 hours

Other things not mentioned: tons of extracurricular leadership and co-founder involvement; and of course, a strong urge to work with underserved populations in my future.

Here's my current MD school list:
All of the TX MD Schools
University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine
Tufts University School of Medicine
Howard University College of Medicine
Morehouse School of Medicine
Keck School of Medicine
University of Illinois College of Medicine
Meharry Medical College
Charles R Drew University of Medicine and Science College of Medicine
Duke University School of Medicine
UCLA
Georgetown School of Medicine
Albany
George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences
Brown Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Temple
Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine
Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine
Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science

Please let me know if there are any other schools I've overlooked and should add!

What outreach have you made with SNMA officers at the schools on your list? The MCAT feels very low for Duke specifically so I want to make sure there isn't a wildcard connection. Brown has a reputation (not sure it's true) for liking other Ivy applicants so I'd go for it. Did I see Vermont? I guess I want to know why you specifically want to go out of Texas where the cost will be much cheaper and your chances much higher.

Seems out of place: UCLA, Albany, GW and GT (sheer number of applications, need better gauge of mission fit), Loyola (need much more service hours).
