What feedback has your prehealth office given you? Are you going through the committee process?

Some scribing (50 h) can count as shadowing unofficially, but you really should have done the other shadowing before now to improve your committee evaluation. What advice were you given at your Sophomore Check-In?

Also all of your nonclinical volunteering is tutoring, which is an academic competency. It doesn't show any service orientation, so you are at risk of being screened out. Every premed seems to tutor low income students so it won't help you stand out. It makes me wonder why you don't...

Hi sorry, I actually had replied, but took it down when I deleted the post. Didn’t have a sophomore check-in as I wasn’t premed at the time. When I did meet with pre-health my senior year, they advised me not to go through with the committee letter process at the time, so we had no further meetings, aside from their advice to do some more service and research as well as to continue gpa trend.

Also thanks for the advice on the previous post! I did my best to implement it, and feel like a stronger applicant now because of it, so thank you!

As in your last post, you have several schools that are unrealistic, particularly as they typically do not accept out-of-state students or will have a harder time looking past your GPA.

I suggest:

2. UGA (if open)
3. Drexel
4. Illinois (high OOS tuition fyi)
5. Temple
6. MCW (Medical College of Wisconsin)
7. Tulane
8. Albany
9. Penn State
10. Vermont
11. Rosalind Franklin
12. Eastern Virginia
13. Augusta
14. George Washington
15. Wayne State
16. Dartmouth
17. Quinnipiac

19. Hofstra

I was indeed having a lot of trouble adding schools to the list I was given on my last post because as you mention I'm not great at deciphering which schools were OOS friendly, even with the MSAR data. One question I have is about Maryland and the Arizona schools. I have pretty strong ties to both states, + currently live in one of them. Would it still not be worth applying?

If you are currently working at NIH, there is an on-campus recruitment fair OITE hosts every summer. Plus AAMC will have a virtual fair next month. Finally, you can always contact admissions offices and ask your question WHY it's worth applying to their program.
