Hey, SDN!
I am a junior Texas resident planning to apply for the upcoming 25-26 cycle. Hoping to get some advice on which schools I can be competitive for out of state if possible as well as if I have a realistic shot for UTSW, Baylor, or TAMU's EnMed program despite my GPA.

cGPA/sGPA: 3.72, 3.67 (MechE + Pre Med)
MCAT: 517 (130/130/129/128)
ORM/URM: white male

Clinical Experience: 240 volunteer hours spent scribing and performing intake of vitals at a med/peds office

Research Experience: currently 150 hours in a medical engineering lab performing research on medical devices (Projected 300-450) Great for tying in medicine and engineering.

Shadowing Experience: 40 hours in orthopedic surgery clinic, projected 40-60 in critical care

Non-Clinical Volunteering: 100 hours partnering my organization with a local food pantry packing meals for an underserved population (2 sem) and 150 served as a group leader at my church mentoring elementary students (2 sem)

I am looking for advice on where to improve my ECs as I move towards application season, as well as advice for applying OOS to T30s if that makes sense for my application.

Thank you.

Advice

For Texas, I think Dell also focuses on engineers and innovation, but clearly TMDSAS lets you apply to all the Texas schools. Geography can also matter if you grew up in a medically underserved region. Keep building more experience with food pantry or other community service orientation activities. Free clinics and hospice/pallative care is also good to pursue.
