Out of state MD schools typically do not pursue TX applicants because they cannot compete with the lower tuition. LSU and Wright are also very in-state focused.

I suggest:

Your TMDSAS schools you listed
TCU
Penn State
Belmont

For DO, you are competitive and I'd suggest shortening it to:

TCOM
Sam Houston
Campbell University
PCOM (all campuses)
CCOM (very high tuition FYI)
DMU
New York Institute of Technology COM
Lake Erie FL campus
LECOM Erie
Oklahoma State
DUQCOM
Kansas City University

Thank you! I also wanted to know if not having any research experience will lower my chances at most schools, and if that is something I should pursue during the gap year (though I'm not really interested in research).

You'd benefit most by helping at your local food bank, soup kitchen or homeless shelter for around 250 hours instead in the event you have to reapply. You can try updating schools after you accumulate a significant number of hours, but they do not need to reconsider your app at that point if they have already decided on it.

U Arkansas has a new initiative to draw in qualified applicants from adjacent states. Texas is one. If accepted you can pay IS tuition.

Thanks for this! I didn't have this one on my list originally, since I assumed they had a heavy in-state bias. But now looking at MSAR, they received a lot more OOS applicant apps than in-state surprisingly.
