  1. Undergrad: cGPA: 3.54, sGPA: 3.50 -> Cincinnati SMP GPA: 3.98 // Total cGPA 3.63, sGPA 3.61
  2. 512 (132/124/130/126) -> 521 (130/127/132/132)
  3. Ohio resident with strong ties to Colorado (lived there all my life except this last year)
  4. Caucasian 25 y/o male
  5. Went to the University of Colorado - Boulder for a chemistry and biochemistry double major -> University of Cincinnati for SMP in physiology
  6. Medical experience: This is certainly my strongest section.
    1. I was an EMT for three years responding to well over one thousand 911 calls. The third year I worked in a level one trauma center and gained a ton of amazing experience and skills like ultrasound guided IV access and a fair amount of splinting and casting skills as well. Hours wise it would be 6,000+ total.
    2. I was a member of Global Medical Brigades for 4 years and would help staff/assist providers at a medical clinic in Nicaragua. We would also work on public health and water projects in rural communities. The fourth year I was a co-president of the group of about 50 volunteers, but sadly the trip had to be canceled due to political instability in country.
  7. For research I worked in a biochemistry lab with my own project for 8 months but it never amounted to anything sadly.
  8. Fair amount of shadowing in various specialties with 80 hours total with about 40 in primary care and 20 in anesthesia. In addition to this as an EMT in the emergency department I was actually able to assist and observe interactions a whole bunch of specialties as well.
  9. For Non clinical volunteering I worked habitat for humanity for about 120 hours and this last year during COVID since habitat was not active I tutored 4th grade math for about 30 hours. I would say that this is my weakest point I wish I had more in this category.
  10. Other extracurricular activities
    1. I was a TA for 1 semesters of general chemistry lecture and lab and 1 semester of physical chemistry.
    2. I was a tour guide for my school and held a leadership role
    3. I had a leadership role in a safe ride program for my school
    4. My current job is in monitoring clinical trials for a contact research organization
  11. Relevant honors or awards
    1. My masters capstone project on coagulopathy in trauma patients was awarded best project and presentation
    2. An award for the successful resuscitation of a cardiac arrest patient who was later discharged neurologically intact from the hospital
    3. Distinguished chemistry graduate for showing promise for advancing the field, given by professor vote
  12. Extra
    1. I have a very strong GPA trend with a 3.95 cGPA over my last 63 credits
  13. School list: My MCAT definitely surprised me and I am not sure where to go from there. I listed some schools I heard were partial to good trends and some other reach, target, undershoots (not necessarily listed in order of preference). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    1. University of Cincinnati (Guaranteed interview from SMP)

    5. Case Western Reserve University
    6. Albert Einstein
    7. Georgetown
    8. Duke
    9. Northwestern
    10. San Francisco
    11. Stanford
    12. Cornell

    22. Toledo
    23. Tulane
    24. North East Ohio Medical University

You have a good list and should receive several interviews. You could add any of these schools:
Washington University
Dartmouth
Brown
NYU
Kaiser
Rochester

Your ECs are strong and your grades and MCAT are much improved. @Goro might have a fuller list, but apply to some of the top tiers that like reinvention and mid tier schools. You might or might not need DO schools on your list as well.

Thank you for the reply and if anyone else or @Goro has any other suggestions that would be amazing. I am currently chipping away at secondary apps as quickly as I can and making sure to swing for some top schools. Don't think I will get to the DO app honestly.

I suggest the following:
NYU

Columbia

Vandy

Dartmouth

BU

Duke

Pitt

Mayo

Mt Sinai

Keck (maybe)

Temple (maybe)

UCSF

EVMS

Hofstra

Emory

Jefferson

U VM

Miami

Drexel

Albany

Tufts

NYMC

TCU/UNT

Your state schools

Rush

Loyola

Rosy Franklin

Tulane

Wake

MCW

SLU

Creighton

Wayne State

Netter

NovaMD

NYU.LI

Any DO program. Include UNECOM if you’re from the NE, OSUCOM if you’re from the Plains states and PacNW if you’re from that region. I can't recommend LMU, ARCOM, RVU, Nova, BCOM, ICOM and LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. Avoid those new schools that haven't graduated a class yet, if at all possible.

Thank you for your insight I’ll definitely add to my current list. Last thing there is to do is put my head down and get these essays done.
