How to format your WAMC thread:

Suggested information to include when creating a WAMC thread are as follows:

Date of submission: June 13
Overall GPA: 4.0
DAT score (include AA and all sections): PAT: 23 QR: 24 RC: 26 BIO: 20 GCHEM: 21 OCHEM: 18 TS: 20 AA: 22
State of Residence: Minnesota

Undergrad Attended: Winona State University and Rochester Community and Technical College
Major: Cellular and Molecular Biology
Minor: Business Administration

Shadowing Experience: ~250 hours at two general practitioner offices with almost 200 at only one office
Volunteering Experience: ~250 hours with religious events, food distribution, and tutoring
Employment: A lot (dont remember the exact number) at a campground and golf course every summer in undergrad/highschool (2016-2020), customer service in retail during one winter, Tutoring through Winona State two years, and work internship at Mayo Summer of 2021
Research: No current research experience but work internship at Mayo is in the clinical lab and will have one semester 3 credit course of internship in the Fall of 2021
Other Extracurriculars: Vice-President of Pre-Dental Club, active involvement in on-campus ministry with leadership position, and enjoy assembling computers/playing video games (didn't put computers/games on application)

LOR type and strength: Two from science faculty, one from the dentist I shadowed at (the one with 200 hours), and one from the pastor of the campus ministry I was involved in
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags: Took DAT before taking O-Chem course and worked ~30 hours a week on average during my time in community college and ~60 hours a week during the summer

Why Midwestern and not Nebraska programs?

A recommendation of a family member who was a Dental recruiter who found that school had decent candidates and proximity to family members who winter in AZ. However, I honestly do not really want to go down there was more of a whim than anything else.

any prerequisites at CC?

By CC do you mean Community College? If so I actually completed an Associate of Arts degree there while in High School (through a state program called PSEO). I spent two years there and completed a total of 70 credits. As far as prereqs at community college I took calculus, calculus based physics, general biology, reading/writing, and psychology there. If that was the information you were looking for let me know as I am not sure what you are asking.

As long as your interviews go well I don’t see any problems with you getting in! Great academic stats, good involvement and leadership, and you already have gotten interviews. That’s a good sign. If you don’t mind me asking, when are your interviews at Iowa and MWU AZ? I got interviews there as well! Good luck this cycle 🙂

As long as your interviews go well I don’t see any problems with you getting in! Great academic stats, good involvement and leadership, and you already have gotten interviews. That’s a good sign. If you don’t mind me asking, when are your interviews at Iowa and MWU AZ? I got interviews there as well! Good luck this cycle 🙂

For Iowa my interview is September 10th and I have yet to pick a date for MWU AZ and good luck to you too.
