1. cGPA and sGPA: 3.18 3.0 Post bacc - 3.5

2. MCAT: 511 (129 126 128 128)

3. state of residence: Colorado

4. Race: Asian

5. Institution: State school

6. Clinical Experience: Infectious Disease Clinic (200 hours), Medical Assistant (1100 hours) , health Fairs (90 hours), Clinic Volunteering (250 hours), Summer NIH Internship (100)

7. Research: Undergraduate research technician (200 hours), Research at a clinic on telehealth and I received a publication (200 hours), Clinical Research on Diabetes at my State Medical Campus and received a publication (100 hours)

8. Shadowing: 120 hours total – Immunologist doctors, 2 infectious disease doctors, family medicine doctor.

9. Non clinical volunteering: college funding board for Dorms (150 hours)

10. Other EC – TA for a semester (150 hours)

With my gpa, would I only ever apply to DO schools? I did two semesters of post bacc and got a 3.3 and then a 3.9 second semester. If I took two more semesters and showed As, would that trend give me a chance at MD schools or would a smp help at all? I am confident I can succeed now academically but is there any chance at MD schools?

Hard to say without details of your coursework. Can you do a second year? What courses are left?

I did a DIY post bacc and took Biostats, physiology, and microbiology for the first semester. In the second semester, I did Epidemiology, Cell physiology, and Immunology. I would just be taking more upper division classes and there are enough physiology classes to take.

You r best chances are at DO schools and I suggest these:
AZCOM
TUNCOM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
UIWSOM
DMU-COM
CCOM
MU-COM
ACOM
PCOM (all schools)
LECOM (all schools)
Touro-NY
NYITCOM (both schools)
WVSOM
UP-KYCOM
NOVA
WCU-COM
Noorda-COM

ok thank you for the list! so would doing an extra year and doing well not really change anything with MDs then?

I think you might as well try your in-state MD, but I don't know your mission fit with other schools. You don't have much nonclinical service orientation activities, and a consistent high GPA trend isn't apparent. Maybe an additional year would help but you also need more nonclinical service activities (food distribution, shelter work, job/tax services, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation). Fundraising doesn't count.
