Have you volunteered/shadowed/attended events at any dental schools? networking, volunteering in a D-school clinic, shadow faculty, etc.

Should I be applying to more? It's just super expensive...
you have the 4 texas schools that are amongst the most difficult to get into in the country
and your DAT is below the US matriculant average (20.5)- you probably want to check the DAT averages at texas schools
and then the 2 arizona schools, which are in the top 6-8 most expensive schools in the country
are you comfortable with that list?

I'm comfortable with my list and I know my DAT isn't the best. I will likely retake it and follow your advice if not admitted this cycle... I know it will be difficult. Now I'm wondering if I will even receive any interviews..?

you have a reasonable shot at interviews, but how many and if they will lead to acceptances is not known
adding schools will increase your odds...

Okay, thanks! I will look into adding more schools! Any suggestions for OOS friendly schools?

OP: Did you grow up in Texas? Are you fluent in Spanish? Have you connected with HDA or SNDA officers at the schools on your list?
Yes, I grew up in Texas and I’m fluent in Spanish. No, I haven’t connected with HDA or SNDA officers.. Should I?

I’ve pretty much been solo throughout my journey…

it's also cheaper to add more schools now than to wait a whole year to reapply to more schools and miss out a year in practice...

Where in Texas? In the cities or rural areas?

That's the reason why you need to check with HDA or SNDA.

You’re right, will add a few more schools to my list.
