Hello! A little lost and would really appreciate help forming a school list please.
My current school list is pretty long and I feel too top-heavy. I am trying to apply to a range of schools as my stats sit far above where my experiences sit in my opinion. I have been a little lost on how to put together a list as stats have not been helpful and I don’t think I fit neatly into research or service focused schools.

cGPA: 3.93
sGPA: 3.89
MCAT: 520 (127,132,132,129)

Clinical:
  • Volunteering with isolated patients, offering companionship and support. ~80 hours
  • Medical scribe ~500 hours
  • Shadowing ~150 hours across a range of specialties
Research:
  • Clinical research coordinator ~900 hours
  • Research internship with 1 publication (10th author)
Experiences:
  • Non-clinical volunteering in a soup kitchen ~50 hours, inspired to start this after experiences during my clinical volunteering.
  • Organic chemistry TA ~175 hours
All of my activities have been things that I have enjoyed thoroughly and have been truly happy to pursue— I hope that this is apparent in my writing. I would really appreciate anyone’s input on my list!

Florida resident. I think I told you this before. You need more hours in the soup kitchen (50 hours). You must have 150 hours by submission of service orientation activities (including food distribution) or you may get screened out by most schools. Your school list looks top-heavy, and playing with high-metrics applicants includes having 250 hours minimum. It's disappointing that you only got 50 hours within this past year.
