I'm not really sure what you're asking, but general statements of encouragement and support are always welcome I would guess. If you're talking about not being able perform daily activities of living around exams times, I think that's pretty normal. Laundry can wait a day, as well taking out the trash. Sure the toilet bowl might be developing a ring around it, but that can be cleaned post-exam. If you're talking about not being able to learn every co-factor and vitamin in the clotting cascade, then you attempt to convince her that residency programs generally care about Step1 scores and 3rd year grades. Sometimes these statements don't work out so well, though, since you're kind of on the outside of the med school world. I'm in a different stage of med school than my partner/SO, and sometimes it's tough!
