Want to practice in Texas

I feel sad threads don't get answers, so I'll take a stab.

No small part of the field of pharmacy is networking. It stands to reason that if you're set on working in TX, you would want to consider going to school there to get a head start on the networking aspect.

You also may want to read around on the Pharmacy board - some TX pharmacists have posted about job prospects in their home areas recently.

In general, job prospects in Texas are usually good but I'm not so sure about pharmacy specifically.
There are 6 pharmacy schools in Texas and there's about to be another one opening next year, so that would increase competition.

I heard that after doing residencies it's easier to find a job.
 
Depends on where you are in Texas. If you don't mind living in a middle of nowhere, I'm sure there will always be something. They wanted to fly me down there to interview me with a sign on bonus, but I declined. This happened recently too.
