I need some advise, my fiancee got a residency in IM PGY1, she now wants to switch in end of PGY1 to a PGY2 position at my present location city. Please help if there is a way we can do that, we would like to live togeather that is the goal however our profession is making us apart. I would really appreciate detail guidance in this regards.

Can we use ERAS for this ?

PLEASE ADVISE

She can only make the switch to PGY 2 if there is an available spot. Maybe services like find a resident can help. I do not think so that eras can be of any help. It also depends wether her present program is willing to let her go. If not then problems pertaining to the lor might arise. Obvioulsy networking helps. You can start with your present hospital. But do not leave your present residency until and unless another position has been secured.

On a personal note... You said that she is your fiancee. This means you guys are not married yet. If marriage is not on the cards right now then may be she can complete her residency as it is a matter of only 2 years. Time flies in medicine.. =)
