I wanted to do masters in perio instead of doing dds.....can this help me....can I practice or can I teach in dental schools.... or I need to do dds, if so can I do it after doing my masters....please help me I could not find it any where.....thanks in advance..............

yes, u can get into perio directly..although, getting in as a fresh foreign grad will b very difficult..and AEGD / GPR / MPH from the US will go a long way..

After ur perio, u can practice in some states - the list is available on the ADA website, search for licencing in states..there is a PDF file that had the break up of state norms.

However, please beware that rules are fluid and evr-changing. Until 98, CA welcomed FTDs without a DDS , laws might change by the time u finish ur perio.

check with the state u want to practice in for current norms and expected future changes.

Yes you can, infact if you become a faculty you might even get to do your DDS/DMD in one year (instead of a 2 yr prog).

you need to think over some questions yourself before asking us for answers.

Thanks for ans..Yes,i wud like to do masters preferably in perio or pedo..infact whichever subject wud be better in tthe long run 2 apply for dds,or i was thinkin certain states give licence to practice with a specific master which i m not v sure about,,,plese advise...i hav alot of teachin experience in PERIO n oral surgery...but wud like to know wat i need to have b4 i apply..im presently in india n will be comin to US next month..so i neeed to get things ready..pl help..thanks
