Can anyone provide some information regarding obtaining radiology residency. I am currently interviewing for a couple of DO programs. I am considering Radiology along with IM. Will the DO program limit my chances?

I have been in the field of Radiology for 20 years as a technologist. I perform CT, Cath Lab, Angiography, CT, and MRI. Therefore, I have a great deal of radiology experience and am very familiar with cross sectional anatomy. I feel this would give me a great advantage in the field. What will determine if I can obtain a Radiology Residnecy? Any advice would be appreciated.

I had a former tech with me in residency. He worked at the same hospital he evetually went to med school and residency at.

Being a DO makes it pretty tough for you, unless you consider DO residencies.

20 years of tech experience doesn't count for that much these days, unfortunately, with the current level of competition. Tough road, but not impossible at all.
