Apologies if this has been highlighted previously.

So we all know that there are offline' versions of the NBME forms available on the internet. This is obviously all very illegal and I am not condoning their use, nor am I requesting information regarding them. I think it is messed up that they are so freely available. But this is kind of like a needle exchange program - if you DO decide to make use of these, please be careful as the answers can be shocking...

I took NBME 5 online (i.e. LEGIT) and got a 247 🙂D) but there were one or two things I hadn't seen or heard about before and I wanted to find out whether I got these right. So I grabbed the 'offline' version of NBME 5 and checked the answers so that I don't make the same mistakes in the real test. For the heck of it I 'marked' my own and got around 77% (couldn't remember all my answers) which would correspond to about 218. I checked the ones I got 'wrong' and it turns out that for a lot of them the answers provided with the illegal PDF were actually wrong. Some were shocking!

If you do decide to make use of these illegal forms, just be aware that they (and specifically for 5) might give you a very inaccurate representation of your current knowledge, as well as 'teach' you some pretty shocking stuff.

I think the $45 is worth coughing up for an 'online' test...

(The answers were in a table form, in a PDF, and labelled 'Answers for form 5 & 6', in case some of you have this version.)

i agree, i took a couple forms and just used the answer keys to check over my answers. a lotta "answer keys" aren't really answer keys but just kids who took the test and answered whatever they thought was right and printed each screen.
