It's literally a dorm. I would def. stay there b/c it is free...and when you wake up in the morning, you're right where you need to be!

Anybody stay at Olin Hall? What is it like?

It's a big dorm building. You walk in & check in w/ the front desk person (in my case, they made a mistake about the night I was staying, but it was quickly resolved). You head upstairs to your floor and it's just hallways w/ rooms off of them. Each room has a bed, desk, closet & sink. Mine had an alarm clock in it, but they also gave us mini ones (that the front desk person said aren't reliable). Some floors are co-ed, some are same sex only. Communal bathroom down the hall.

I'd for SURE recommend staying there b/c of the ease & free factor. Literally, you meet everyone downstairs for breakfast - super easy. And it's where they have the pizza night if you go. Also, it seems many M1s (and other years?) reside there - so if you want to see what it's like, I'd recommend it.

it's a lil gnarly, but not bad for a dorm room. like other people have said, it's convenient and a good way to meet other interviewees and current students.

I would highly recommend staying there for the interview, but you couldn't pay me enough to live there if I get accepted. They provide sheets, towels, and clocks, but you should bring along a book or magazine for entertainment.

i agree w/ what the others have said so far. i just wanted to add that u don't need to pack a blanket. i did, cause i didn't know if they would give me one and i didn't like the idea of using someone else's, but the heat is super high in the dorms. bring a t-shirt.

just curious...how long did it take you to get interviews after being complete. thanks in advance

I can't remember exactly, but I was complete back in June and I received a letter in the mail sometime in late October.

As I type this, I'm sitting in Olin. It's really not that bad. It's a dorm, yes, but you just can't beat the price and convenience.

As far as interviewees go, I see no reason not to stay in Olin, unless you just really like spending money and waking up early.
