I don't think you will receive a reply until they are done with their finals. I can tell you what I know about Pullman. It is a small college town about 75 miles from Spokane and the Spokane Airport. Moscow, Idaho is about 10 miles away and a lot of students go there for various shopping needs (WalMart)and also to Clarkston/Lewiston which is about 35 miles. Housing in Pullman is reasonable. The average amount is probably $500 for a 1 bedroom depending on location and age. Like any college town, get your housing as soon as possible. Washington State allows you to claim residency after a year but you need to adhere to their requirements. The weather is certainly not as severe as Michigan but you can expect cold, snow and rain.
The College of Veterinary Medicine is not something I can speak to with much knowledge. I do know that my vet told me the vets he has encountered from WSU are usually very good all around surgeons. What that means I will leave up to you. I do know that my son loves the school and is very happy with his education thus far. Also in his class there are several people leaning toward large animal medicine. I do know that when I took the tour I was very impressed with the hospital and the diversity of their clientel. The dean was also very impressive but that is just my feeling. Anyway, I hope my little contribution helps until a student is able to contribute.
