I know lots of you are eagerly awaiting decisions from the first WashU committee meeting (myself included). Could anyone who is admitted kindly post here when and how you received the notification?

when was the first committee meeting? i interviewed late october. when did you interview? and any news???

Our fates have been decided for this month! Yesterday was the first adcom meeting...

I expect most people will hear next week. But some may hear earlier because some interviewers will notify their applicant first, before they get the letter in the mail. You are supposed to get a phone call from Dean Dodson, and then a letter in the mail. If you don't hear anything, that means you didn't get in on this round. I'm not sure if rejection letters are mailed out at this point.

Is this just speculation, or do you know for sure that interviewers might call and that Dean Dodson calls?

It has been the practice for the last however many years that Dean Dodson, the Dean of Admissions, makes a personal phone call to each and every person admitted to WashU. I know, it's really a lot of work for him, but it makes a great impression for WashU. I'm not sure what happens if he can't reach you. So I guess, it's technically possible for you to not hear from Dodson and still get in. Regardless, everyone gets a letter in the mail. As far as the other interviewers are concerned, that is up to them. Some people will want to tell their applicant and send them a personal congrats, but most won't.
