Does anyone know if a February interview at Washington University is basically an interview for a waitlist spot? After all the talk about the admissions games WashU is alleged to play to increase their selectivity ranking and knowing that a lot of people seem already to have gotten an acceptance, I feel like I might have been offered an interview spot only to be sent directly to the waitlist. Any experience on this topic? Thanks.

Nope. You're fine. I think if you look up some of the previous washu threads, you'll see that they've only sent out about half of their interview invites (or acceptances, not sure.) You still have a wonderful chance, and they interview all the way til april, i think.

I'm thinking the same thing as well. I got my invite this week and I was complete in September. I think they invited the people they really want to interview already and we're just the backups. I don't plan to attend the interview. I'm feeling lazy right now and I'm not too excited about living in St. Louis. From the e-mail, their last interview date is on Feb. 25.
