Hi all!
Will u like to plz tell me the difference betwee an O.D n B.optom student. If a B.opto stu wants to get an O.D, how can he?😕
BOptom is usually a UK designation for an undergraduate degree. OD at UC Berkeley is a graduate degree. You have to have your bachelors already and you have to be admitted first to the Graduate Divsion of UCB and then to the optometry school of Berkeley. The graduate designation of the OD degree is not universial in the US, though.
Some schools in the US may grant 1 or 2 years advanced standing in their programs for holders of B Optom degrees for practicing in the US.

Thanx 362. Actually im neither uk resident nor USA but im doing my B.optom from pakisstan. wat about this, u say if i want to earn an OD. Means wat wil i have to get admission in O.D again.
Yes.
look into NECO (New England College of Optometry) and PCO (Pennsylvania College of Optometry), they are the only ones that I know for sure offer some kind of advanced standing. PCO also offers programs for foreign optometrists at institutions outside of the USA.
