Hey guys..

Actually I am wondering if any 1 preparing for the NBDE part 1 and working with full or part time jobs...

I think its a good idea share our exper regarding this issue like:

1)wat you are working.
2)full or part time.
3) how many hours you study a day.
4)preparation time .......

Please lets share our experi and motive each others..I am working full time.. its really pain!!!!😡

hi there..you are not alone there..i'm working full time too...i have joined a dentist..so i go 4 days a week and 1 sat. i'll start to study for part 1 now..want to give it in june..i plan to study 8 to 10 hrs a day on my off days..and around 4 hrs on the days i work..you think this is enough???

In my opinion it depends on the student to see the amount of time needed for study, some need more others need less. So there is no specific answer for you guys, the amount of time needed for study is subjective in my opinion

Good luck

Well guyz I think you have to be happy in order to be successful. The ideal situation would be to study full time with all attention to books. If the circumstances do not allow then one has to accommodate and get the best out of the worst situation.

In my case I have to work in order to support the family. I know many guyz who worked as security guards and studied at least 8 to 9 hours of their 12 hour shift for all their exams while at work, the job is like look busy do nothing to be honest. This was actually done and suggested to me by a medical doctor who is now the director of Psychiatry department in one of the NY hospitals.

Be positive and never loose focus cause at the end either we will be appreciated or called a looser. Choice is ours. Good luck.

Hi Cool freek..

You said that you're working with a dentist. What kind of work is that? Are you paid for that? In which state are you working currently? Is there any qualification requirements for this?

Thanks.

I think you have to study harder.I pased Part 1 and Part 2 after firt attempt, but I was home studying about 6-7 hours almost every day for few months.
With determination and faith you will pass it.

Thank you for posting here guys.. we are all in the same boat. working full time is a really PAIN.. specially when u working as dental assistant .. but wat we have to do. we have to work and we have to pass with good score...

I think to work as security guard its a good idea even if we work full time. coz during your duties u can study.. so work and gain money ..... maybe its not high salary job as DA for example.. BUT AT LEAST WE CAN STUDY MORE..

please if any 1 have any idea how we can apply for security guard jobs let us know guys..

GOOD LUCK ALL🙂

Hi again,
In order to be a security guard just call the companies tell them that you are legally allowed to work (with proof). Most companies will process the application for you.

In Ontario, the fees is $80. There is a back ground check and after about a week you get the license.

Get paid to study. Yes the salary is the basic but hey if you are a "night" person then you can really have a good time to study. Day time it is quite busy unless you are in a construction site 🙂

Good luck

Hey folks,
That was so motivational and inspiring too! I thought I'm the only person to take care of family and kids, plus workin for ambition. After seeing the thread, I'm a new person now! But, one thing is reverbratin in my mind. I get so stressed out when it comes for the household chores like cookin, takin care of kids and studyin. I really get worn out and wud start screamin and steamin out! Gettin nervous and tensed for the trivial things. Please gimme your advice to correct myself. Hats off for anybody who's workin for their livin and studyin.

Hats of to everybody on this thread and every other struggling, hardworking, trying-to-make-it-here- FTD! We will always look back and marvel at our hard times....and in comparison hopefully other life struggles will be much simpler than this.
Way to go FTD's!
