For those who are going for Waterloo or UFT Pharmacy (Bachelors) in 2009/2010. I have a question for you guys. Most of you know how ELPD will be starting in Waterloo and UFT soon so that people can directly get into Pharm.D. without going through the longer BSc first process.

Do you guys know whether students like us who are planning to start in one of these universities now will be able to switch to Pharm.D. once these schools implement the new ELPD program.

I don't know how to switch to the ELPD program because it's not put in place yet, but U of T have started their PharmD program recently. It's a two year program and I think this program is for people who already hold a bachelor of pharmacy degrees to upgrade theirs, more info is here: http://www.phm.utoronto.ca/pharmd/index.jsp

Waterloo has not stated that it will be starting an ELPD program, they are considering it. UFT is still waiting on the Ministry to approve it's ELPD program, until that happens, it will still be the b.pharm.

I think both schools will have upgrading programs in place for students in the b.pharm program pending approval from the Ministry.

Just a pet peeve of mine: it's U of T, UofT, or UT. Not UFT!!

Man i just got into the BScPharm at U of T this year, hopefully when i come out it will be a pharmD instead of 2 more friggen years
