Good day everyone!
Does anyone know what the costs are for attending Waterloo?
I recently got accepted to begin this upcoming fall and I have not been able to find any information regarding tuition costs, accomodation costs, equipement costs, books...etc

I asked Marie about this last week, and she said that tuition information won't be made available until May/June. She said it would go up from last year (no surprise there), but not by an astronomical amount.

Hi everyone, I was offered a seat, but I'll be releasing mine. Hopefully you guys on the waitlist will be a step closer to getting in!

It's too bad about it being more. I know lots of people get a student line of credit so does anyone recommend a particular bank?

Hey all, just wondering if anyone is deciding to decline or if any of the other waitlistees have been contacted yet.

For those who were accepted, when do you have to decide by?

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I am considering applying to Optometry in a few years from now (currently in first year science)! So can someone explain the whole process please? And what is considered a competitive GPA? Is it true that one needs a 99 percentile on OAT? And if yes, how hard is it to get that kind of percentile on OAT (I've taken the pcat before twice, and I know it's very challenging to get that high on PCAT, but is it just as hard on OAT?)

I've read the info on Waterloo website, but I thought I would ask the applicants about the process since you guys have been through the whole thing already!

Thanks a lot!

I was just on the cusp of acceptance, and I have a 3.7 (closer to 3.8), 340 on OAT. I have heard from graduating opt students and from the admissions officer that the OAT is really not a huge factor. Its just more of a "did you do it and get above 300" thing. The interview is more important, so have good answers and good experiences to talk about.
Start volunteering NOW, and job shadow optometrists. This will allow you to have something to talk about during the interview and will prepare you better for questions. So I can get in next year, I am really just focusing on experience in the field and getting a job that is related to opt.

Good luck, and take both physics right before your write the OAT it helps out a lot.

i will be declining my spot this week.

good luck to all the waitlisters!

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has taken any bird courses at Waterloo in any year? Thank you for your input.
