unrelated to the question above, I found a great video on changing wavelength in waves and thought it was worth sharing.

I was trying to visualize this statement: "When a wave transfers from one medium to the next, the wavelength changes and the frequency stays the same."

In this video, you can see the up and down motion occurs with the same frequency, but wavelength is altered when the different medium is reached.
