Just wondering if anyone heard anything from the recent Wayne State Decision Day...I think it was last Fri (3/21)?? Also, curious if anyone has been taken off a WL there yet.

so its this wednesday...i've been waiting for almost 2 months now for this day...the wait is killing me!!

I called Wayne State today and found out I'd been accepted. 😀

I'm still amazed that there are actually schools that give decisions over the phone, but whatever. ;p

I will likely be withdrawing my file, so good luck to all the waitlisters.

I called yesterday and found out i'm waitlisted....so i guess there's more waiting for me.....
i'm just wondering if anyone know the amount of movement on the Wayne waitlist?

They've a pretty good wait list. About 5 people I knew came off but it was like in May-July

hey guys, i just got my LETTER from wayne telling me i'm on the alternate list too. can you believe i was too busy the 26th to even call in and find out? and to think i'm only doing clinical research, not even a doctor yet....
anyhow congrats to those who got in, and for those like me let's keep our fingers crossed.
btw, is it just me or does wayne NOT reject anybody who they interview? its my impression that all my friends and friends of friends who've interviewed there get waitlisted or accepted.

i called them yesterday to findout my status and i was rejected post interview!!! i was so suprised when she said it b/c i didn't even feel that the interview went bad and i didn't really understand why but i was so pissed i just wanted to get off the phone. btw i am a CA resident and interviewed on 2/3.

i interviewed at wayne state on feb. 3, too....i think i remember you, you had short hair and was wearing a navy colour pant suit, right? i was the chinese girl from toronto, remember me?

Yeah i noticed teh same, but I think its just MI residents, cause over teh yrs i've known about 7 people(MI residents) who interviewed there and they were either accepted, waitlisted(some accepted late)
I'm sure if i wasnt a MI resident, I'd have been rejected without a secondary, instead of this hold 4 an interview, but i'm just prayin that next week when they review my application for the last time, i get an interview 🙁

jolu---congrats!! i totally remember you...i think you will get in off the waitlist so hopefully it will be good news in the future...the weird thing is that i thought the interview went okay but i guess not🙁...i know there is nothing i can do about it now...have you heard from anywhere else??? if you want email me!!! good luck again!!!!

nygirl6464, i am so sorry to hear about your news and even more sorry to have made those assumptions, it was very rude and insensitive of me. i hope you get over your misfortunes soon - besides who'd wanna go to detroit if you're from cali right😉

as for my theory only being true for MI residents, i'm from toronto and everybody i know who applied are from the province of ontario so i guess that shoots down all of the theories.

anyhow once again, good luck to everybody. this application procedure just seems like a dumb game (that costs a LOT of time and money) so hopefully we'll all be the big winners in the end.

But the woman told me I'm on the "high alternate list"... a new thing this year, she said...and I will likely gain an acceptance, if not until June....guess I'll have to wait for my actual letter to see if they go into any detail on this supposed category...

Guess I should start weighing the pros and cons of MSU-CHM and Wayne??

So I got the letter today, and honestly, it doesn't sound any different from what I would expect any other "you're waitlisted" letter to sound like....the last paragraph says something to the effect of "the committe has identified me as one of its priority candidates..." blah, blah, blah..there's a substantial likelihood you will be offered a place...and they encourage me to complete my financial aid materials....

Does this sound familiar to anybody else?

As of now, I think I'll be going to CHM, but I guess I'm still unsure..

Hey crashingstonefish, just got the waitlist letter from wayne. It did not mention anything about me being a "priority" or any ranking, just that it is too early to give ranking ( fourth enrollment period is not over with) and that a spot may open any time after that. So feel good, your letter is unique and means you probably have a spot if you wait long enough. As for me, I've had enough waiting, hope to see you at CHM.

I also received a "priority alternate list letter" after the March 26th decision date.

The "priority" or "high" alternate list is indeed a new thing at wayne state this year. The people that I spoke to in the office of admissions told me that Wayne does not overbook the class so at no time will they have more than 256 acceptances on the table. I was also told that based on waitlist movement in previous years, everyone on the "priority" list will likely be offered an acceptance.
