Is anyone at Wayne State University's school of pharmacy? I'm a pre-pharmacy student there and had a few questions about the program.

It says on the website that the minimum GPA is 2.8...but I was wonder what the stats are for students that are currently in the program, as I am assuming that they are much higher.

I am currently working on my pharmacy prereqs...I went to a school out of state for 3 years, with the intentions of going to law school. However, after taking my LSAT, being accepted and starting my internship, I realized that I hated every idea of law. With that being said, I was wondering what your ideas were on whether or not I would be better off finishing my degree and then do my pharmacy prereqs...or should I just abandon my previous years and keep tugging away at my prereqs in order to get (hopefully) into pharmacy school sooner?

Thanks for your input!

i graduated from ferris undergrad and was accepted to the pharm school, but decided on med school instead. the avg at ferris has been going up over the last couple years and becoming more and more competitive. There are a lot of students who get in from ferris's honors program that guarentees admissions for a 75% on PCAT and maintain a 3.5 to its honor students. the avg gpa is probably around 3.7-3.8.

I'm applying to WSU - and I'm currently at WSU for undergrad. I think the minimum GPA is 3.0; that's what they said at the meeting - but the guy told us that people will not get in with a 3.0 - it should be much higher. There was this one guy who got in with a 3.1 GPA, but had 90% on PCAT.

its getting pretty competitive getting in any pharmacy school, so make sure you maintain a B+/A GPA avg (even on the pre-reqs) and make sure you try to score at the competitive range (80+) on the PCAT and you should be fine. Since WSU implemented interviews, make sure you are prepared for that too. Its not gonna be easy-going but don't make it into something super nerve-wrecking. Just keep your cool and make sure you're very pleasant and knowledgeable in the field of pharmacy and able to answer anything they throw at you. good luck :D
