think about it 😀 this whole med schl stuff

I'll use myself as an example, I'm a 1st yr, ive a final in my physiology/histo class in exactly 12hrs(1:15pm) Tuesday afternoon, I spent all monday studying, from 9am, and its now past midnight, its 1:20am Tuesday morning. I took an hr and a half nap, took time to talk on the phone for about 20mins, and ate(while studying). I still have to review old exams, and then spend probably 3hrs going over histo slides online.

I know my non medical related friends would think I was crazy becos as far as they are concerned, with all this studying i should ace the final, but we all know that its not as easy.
The good thing is I know I'm not the only "crazy" person in this, the rest of y'all are too
If I studied like this in undergrad, I would have had a 4.0 in everything , even Orgo...LOL, well maybe not orgo 😛
The good thing is that I'm actually understanding this stuff, like cardio makes sense now, histo is more than colorful artwork and I'm loving this whole medicine thing, I finally UNDERSTAND Physiology...YEAH!!!the sad thing is that its the end of the semester...I learned the hard way, and now have to dig myself out the dumps and have to ACE this final.

Duty calls...back to my crazy world.

👍

Good luck on your final tomorrow!!

Crazy, yes probably. Happy as clams in mud, yes definitely!!

And right, what's up with that 12 hour a day studying thing where you would think that with a schedule like that you would have an honors kind of score, and you get to the exam and you feel like you just have the barest sense of what the question is asking, never mind what the answer might be or that there are another 49 more questions to go and the clock is ticking away ... Yep, it's a weird feeling to be grateful for a 79, or whatever, on your exams.

But learning tons? yeppers, it is so awesome!!

good luck to everyone......I'm in the midst of finals as well, and since I had 4 tests last week, I really have only had ~1.5 days to study for each final, and I am feeling the burn!!!!!!!! Man, Friday is going to be niiiiiiiiiice

I was like that the first couple weeks till I found the amt of studying i could do to be comfortable... it's like 1-2 hrs on some days and 6 on others. I'm usually late to class now too.

Duty calls...back to my crazy world.[

i understand how u all feel. wow the sem is over for me. all the replies that u have gotten is a great help for my tingling brain. 😱 so much to learn in a short time. i hardly have time to use the bathroom b/c of all the work i need to do, it never ends. A's are a thing of the past for me, it is sad that i am happy over getting a C on an exam. i was in nursing school for a while and i can say the work is just as much, as far as the amount of learning needed to stay ahead. i do not understand how nursing school can be as hard as med school.? i would have never thought rn s have to go through so much, but i am glad that they do. but look at the crazy world we have gotten into b/c we want to.. we all want this so much. i feel so depressed b/c of all that is required of me (as i know most of us are) i need to get my head on right for next sem. good luck to all of u and enjoy the holidays, i know that i will.
someone said that we are WIMPS,(mossjoh) :meanie: well, you would think that someone who is in their 3rd year would have words of encouragement. we should all help each other out, that is why most of us are going to be md/s. what is the meaning behind the madness for mossjoh?
keep up the great work people, we will make it. one day at a time, keep ur head up.

Perhaps it would have been good to read into my sarcasm...and my J/K under my statement...as well as the fact that lotanna and I are from the same school!

Actually, you first years have it a lot harder than us!

Sorry for the pissy comment, but just because one is a medical student doesn't mean he/she works harder than everybody else.

Yay. I just hope I can pass anatomy and micro. Too bad I realized I still needed to see 4 lectures, study the throat, study the 4 ganglia of the head, and learn 90 organisms and their properties.

In two days.

Ah well.
