Just trying to post pad (how the hell do you use the postpad icon BTW???). Now that we are officially within 5.9 days, its time to really relax and enjoy this feeling of exhiliration. I can't imagine ever being this excited about another event in the remainder of my life...already have kids, already bought my dream guitar, already have a trust to pay for my future grandkid's and current kid's colleges....so really this is the icing on the cake of my life. Becoming a doctor has been more important to me than any amount of money...or anything for that matter. And becoming an EM physician is even more important to me now. If you learn one thing from this old fart, know that when you finally make it in life and you look back, the light at the end of the tunnel was really only an illusion meant to occupy you while your brain learned to be content. Because I can honestly say that even knowing I will never struggle, knowing I could probably quit today and never starve and still send my kids to college one day....its the most incredible feeling to be knowing you are doing what you have always wanted to do. I have to think that it is similar to what a professional ballplayer feels when he steps out onto the field the first time.. But I think it is even better for us, because these ballplayers know their time is limited and their spotlight will only be illuminated for another few years on average. We are headed into a profession where we get to do what we love, and there is literally no end in sight. The word retirement will honestly never be something I worry about. My form of retirement will be working 2 shifts per week and spending 5 days a week on my deck reading and enjoying the weather! Even 2 shifts a week will be more than I made in any other job in my entire life!! Life is good, and I just wanted to tell all of you guys that. Thanks for taking this ride with me.......... 😳 😳 😳 😳
