BUT SHOULD HAVE!🙁

To make a long, dramatic, love story short...my boyfriend and I did not couple's match, but realized later that we should have (since we are now planning on getting married). We did apply to several of the same cities however our ERAS applications does not indicate we are matching together. We are getting a little nervous because so far we only have two common regional interviews...

My question is...should I mention to the programs I am interviewing at that my boyfriend is also interested? How much of this "situation" should I bring up during the interview, and following the interview?

Any advice is helpful...Thank you!!!!!!!! 🙂

PS: I am applying peds, he is applying surgery...so no san francisco match excuse🙁

Question #1... Are you US grad or FMG

Question #2... How competitive are both of you?

Ped is easy for FMGs.. surgery is a pain for FMGs.

My advise... continue matching uncoupled and then after you're set then try to transfer residencies....

It sucks to be without a residency for a year while you wait on the other person is working.

If you are both competitive and are US grads then sheesh just send some apps to the same place, it should be a piece of cake.

Thank you for such a prompt response!!!
1. We are both US grads
2. I am fairly competitive, he is little less competitive
I think it is also important to note that I am a DO (apply Allopathic match), and he is a MD.

I just checked...and it looks like you can! Guess I should have tried harder. Do you think it is too late considering programs have already been viewing our application and granting interviews???

i'd call some programs that your bf got that you didn't and vice versa and let them know the situation
