Passing this on to our SDN group here. We've grown 20% over the last year, but still have a few spots left for 2025.
Very unique model that allows partners to dial in their work-life balance.
Can take as much or as little time off as wanted. You can crush a salary by working hard or if you are like me, take it super easy and enjoy the eastern Sierras and Tahoe.
Call is optional. No buy-in and no non-competes. Immediate partner. No pyramid schemes as in groups of the past (and present).
Our hospital system continues to build and grow. Kidney tx program starting this year. We also have eyes on a liver program, but that is at least a few years out.
Lot's of support from the hospital, our partners and our board of directors.
Could use a few extra peds people for a mixed practice.

Our group isn't perfect, but I think we have a special thing happening here.

"We are Nevada's largest independent physician-only private practice anesthesia group, and located in Reno, NV. We are wholly self-owned and self-managed, exclusively by our physicians, for our physicians and our community. We are proudly proving that corporate medicine, hospital employment, and/or Care Team supervision are not the only anesthesiology job options available. Instead, we offer the opportunity to perform 100% of your own cases, within a health system that values its physician partners, in a group that you own, focusing on excellent patient care. We do not believe in onerous buy-ins or restrictive non-competes. We are intent on offering a fulfilling opportunity to practice anesthesiology in an equitable environment. In other words, this is not just another average job, but rather an opportunity to use your voice as a doctor to make a difference for your patients, your community, and yourself.

We are the largest physician-only medical group in Northern Nevada, with about 60 anesthesiologists. Working at two hospitals, and multiple surgery centers, our group covers about two-thirds of the anesthesia cases in Reno, including most complex cases. Our main facility is Renown Medical Center which is the only Level 2 trauma center in Northern Nevada.

Anesthesiology|NV values providing exceptional clinical care to our patients, nurturing friendships with our surgical colleagues, and maintaining work-life balance for ourselves and our families. Our compensation system is very flexible, accommodating those who value lifestyle, and at the same time allowing those who want to work hard to significantly supplement their incomes. The average partner takes 9-10 weeks off and earns $500K/year. Overnight and weekend call is optional, but non-participation in call does limit your earning potential. We do not have individual limitations around how much (or how little) time you may take off. Ultimately, we want each physician to find their desired balance within our diverse practice. While many anesthesia groups are struggling to maintain staffing, we are growing by our number of physicians by about 20% year-over-year, which allows us to continue to support both flexibility for our physicians and significant regional growth.

We are currently interviewing for a very limited number of openings for Fall, 2025. In addition to general anesthesia positions, we are also interviewing for pediatric (mixed peds-adult) positions. Our cardiac team is fully staffed, so we are not hiring for cardiac at this time. Please email [email protected] if you would like additional information."

If the liver tx program ever gets off the ground I’ll be knocking on your door!
We just hired the former president of UNOS and department chair of Transplant surgery @ Yale.

Our other tx surgeon is pretty awesome as well. Pediatric liver, pancreas, kidney. We are starting w adult kidneys however. I suspect livers will come next, but that program will be a bigger endeavor to get going.

Anyone in your practice do interventional pain in addition to general anesthesia?

We have a lot of ORs and day to day schedule fluctuates including NORA. In general we try to be down to 5 Rooms by 5pm at the main house.

Things get quiet by 6-7pm, but not always.

We have an acute care line and ortho line 24/7. This is really nice because cases can get bumped to the following day if appropriate. Keeps you at home at night when driving the ship.

You can get really lucky some days and be home super early. Likewise you will occasionally draw the short straw for an after hours ex-lap, crani, spine case, etc.

1st call comes in at 3pm and is off the following day. Home call.

In addition to general 1st call, we have 24/7 coverage of trauma, cardiac, peds and OB. Only OB and Trauma are in house. Both of these are elective panels if you are not interested in either.

What sort of benefits of being part of the cardiac or trauma call pool/team? And how big are each?

Great cases if you like those.
Cardiac/Trauma shifts = $
