I really miss that we don't have a like button in this website. There are many good posts and ideas that you wanna"like", but cannot. Posting a reply with a quote and "thumbs up" doesn't cut it. WE NEED A "LIKE" BUTTON.

Disagree. You lose a lot of good insight on an online board if people opt to just click "like" instead of actually chime in.

Good point. If you wanna participate you will, but many times you just wanna read what others wrote. With the like button you participate without really joining the discussion. Many times you don't really have something to add to the ongoing discussion.

Highly disagree. Purpose if the like button would be...what exactly? To keep score of posts by who/what got the most likes? If you personally like something, save or bookmark it. Or post something in agreement or expanding it. Or request it be stickied if its truly exceptional. But we don't need a score-keeping mechanism on SDN. This site is for interaction, not click generating and data collection for advertising purposes (the real point of the like button on Facebook).

You can rate a thread, if you like--at the top you'll see "Rate This Thread," or you can add a rating while you're composing a reply, towards the bottom of the screen. Probably as close as you'll get.

We need our old smiley/icons back and a new "humblebrag" icon

😛
We really do. They were more fun than the icons we got now. I guess they give you something and take away something 🙁. Now I want my old smiley icons back, and you can take your darn "like" button back 😡

If you switch to the Old School SDN Forums style (bottom left corner) it hides the "like" count. You can still see the button though. I never saw the need for "likes" either. They don't serve any purpose besides an ego stroke, and that's what Facebook is for.

Some of us could use the ego stroke 😛

Thank you for this!! I switched back to the old style and am much happier.

Switched to Old School Style. Things look more familiar now 😉

Why did the "Gold Donor" badge just switch back to a big flashy banner? Just the other day it was a little badge that fit nicely next to my 2+ year member badge, and now it's stupid again. If I wanted bling I'd buy a gold necklace and a set of ridiculous huge rims for my truck.

Wait 😱 . Did somebody "like" Law2Doc's comment that we don't need a "like" button?
U guys
