Hi all, I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one.

I prefer to wear a light sweatshirt with the hood up while testing. It helps me focus in on what I am doing. Is this allowed for the MCAT? In an old thread I found someone said that you cannot have your hood up.. I don't see why this would be the case?

Thanks!

Possibly secret post-it notes on the inside of your hood?
Or a gadget that lets you communicate with the outside world?!

In reality.... I have no idea.

I would say this will probably vary with testing center. For my step III I saw a guy walk in with a VERY light jacket (probably could be considered a sweatshirt) and the guy wouldn't let him in with it. Certainly I don't see how they could deny your ability to wear a hoodie. The only question will be if you get a tap on the shoulder asking you to put the hood down. Your best bet? Call the testing center where your test is scheduled and ask.

Survivor DO

I had my hood half up and someone came in to tell me to lower it. I think most testing centers, if they are paying attention, would say something.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll just keep practicing w/o the hoodie and not wear one on test day -- no biggie. 🙂

Test center people are ridiculous. I was wearing a sweater. I got hot, so I proceeded to take off my sweater. They told me I wasn't allowed to take it off once I had started the test and that I needed to put it back on or they'd void my test. Yes, taking off a sweater and putting it on the chair behind you is somehow a violation that will void your test.
