I got a tattoo when I was younger before I knew I wanted to be a dentist. Don't get me wrong, I like my tattoo but had I known I was going to be a dentist I may not have gotten it. It is a piece going from my shoulder to my elbow. Could I wear a sleeve on that arm under my scrubs to cover it?

I don't see why it would be a problem. I work with a couple of docs who only wear long sleeves t-shirts, which you could do. One of them wears a sleeve to cover his ink, just like you would. I call him RGIII to bust his chops lol. Be ready for just about everyone to ask about it, because people just can't help themselves.

Good question. I am starting d school this August and before I go I wanted another tattoo but on the inside of my arm, on my bicep. Does anyone know if tattoos that are visible a problem at schools?

Awesome that answers my question! Thanks a ton!

From what I have read it is becoming more and more acceptable. I don't think it will be a problem my friend.

Congrats on your acceptance!

Dental schools are all about professional demeanor and attire. I've got sleeves on both arms so I was worried about the same thing. As long as it's not obvious and it's covered, I don't think there would be any issues with it.

There is a school that had a problem with a marine's tattoo that I was told about from a friend that goes there. Am I old because I wanted to make an AI joke instead of an RGIII joke?

Nothing like one of those tattoos you regret later in life huh?

But yeah just cover it up the best you can

In my school you are required to wear a solid-color, long sleeves shirt under the scrub top if you have tattoos. If not, you still have to wear a shirt but it doesn't need to be long sleeve.
