In the past I've dressed professionally but since I'll be in Labor and Delivery would that be weird to wear scrubs?

A resident IS a doctor...

I usually wear scrubs because it is easier for the doctor to explain to patients. "she is a student." and that's it. The patients will assume you are a medical student.

SCRUBS!

L & D is not any place for business casual attire --- too many wet gooey babies flying everywhere 😛

I wore business casual to labor and delivery..... the doc was like “ummmm here’s some scrubs, you probably want to change.” You probably want scuba diving gear tbh. There was so much fluid. I dont know how that much fluid can be inside of one human. Holy crap.

I wore my volunteer polo the first day, my doc said "You are not really volunteering"
I did business casual the second time, my doc said "Too much"
I then did scrub the third time, my doc said "it looks like you work here now"

...

We finally settled on me wearing light blue scrubs on top with khaki pants and sneaker ... Weirdest outfit...

this was ER btw

go with scrubs. comfy and doesn't hinder your movement. wouldn't want to go home with wet clothes
