As I prepare myself for the inevitable AMCAS application, I notice that my life might be a little easier if I had a place to organize all my information for the application. For this reason, I propose to make a web application, currently idealized with the name "MedApp" for clarity, that will allow you to input your application information and otherwise just keep things organized.
Some simple features might include:
-allowing you to enter and save your responses to the AMCAS application (work/experience, volunteering, research, etc.) beside identifying information
-based off of your selection of when you are applying, will create a timeline of deadlines, such as when you should be requesting recommendations
-keep track of your MCAT studying progress, for example if you enter scores for your diagnostic tests
-checklist of everything that needs to be done, user can check each option off when completed or add comments
So, basically this is most of the AMCAS application except not the actual application. May be useful for people such as me who aren't supposed to be filling out the actual application yet but want to get a tab on what exactly I need done soon (like study for MCAT, think about recs).
Please give me feedback on whether you think this idea may be useful for students. It's just an idea at this point, and it may be redundant as the AMCAS application does all this already. If you'd like to contribute to development then message me.
Thanks!
