Is this even a serious question?

GO TO YOUR DAMN WEDDING AND RESCHEDULE THAT INTERVIEW!!!!!!!

Wait, brown has a dental school? 😕

That is hilarious!!!!

I have just recieved an invitation for an interview at harvard; but its on the same day as my WEDDING!!!!😱

Should I accept the interview and cancel my wedding or vice versa?? :scared:

your trippppin!!!!!!!!!

I would cancel the wedding and go to the interview. You shouldnt even have to ask this.

I know right. It won't look good if he/she declines the interview. Shows a real lack of commitment. 🙄

Harvard should be understanding. They like stable people; married people tend to be more stable than single people. Keep the wedding plans; arrange for another interview.

Also, what does your fiance say?

If it were me, I would choose cancelling the interview over cancelling my wedding. You may get in a car wreck on your way to your interview that may maim your hands/body and rend you incapable of performing work as a dentist (heaven forbid). But you can always be a husband/wife, mother/father!

Good luck with both the wedding and the interview!👍

Oh. My. God.
The person you are going to spend the rest of your life with is more important than any dental school interview, plus people re-schedule all the time. ****, I would say if I had to choose between a winning lottery ticket and a soul-mate I'd choose the female.

awww...really? I would pick my wedding over the interview yes...but a winning lottery ticket?? (millions of dollars!) I am not sure about that...LOL...

To the OP...I know three people that has interviewed at Harvard and they all say that Harvard is very understanding and willing to help out if you are in a schedule conflict..so just call them! good luck! 😉

There was a dentist and his wife and she was beeaaauuuutttiifffuulll. A foolish dentist and his wife...and she was beautiful and she was virtuoouuss.

Who says you have to choose? Move your wedding to Boston. Interview with Harvard during the morning and early afternoon. Change into your tux in one of Harvard's bathroom stalls, rush to your wedding that evening, go to your honeymoon, and get a call from Anne telling you you got into Harvard while in Cabo. Everybody wins!!!

Is that supposed to be a song? 😕

The more I get addicted to SDN, the more things I don't get.

Maybe because I am an international student?

jigabodo - you crack me up. don't feel bad, i was born and raised here and i don't get it either....

From the musical Sweeny Todd except replace dentist with barber.

Guess it was a joke for myself +pity+

I read that as an indication that some dentists have their minds in the wrong things. This dentist had a beautiful wife, but his head was elsewhere and never touched his wife (virtuous => chasity).

I got it! You should have gave more time for people to guess before spilling the beans.

reschedule the interview, you've been planning your wedding for months, I think Harvard will be understanding... if not then screw them, I wouldn't want to go somewhere that didn't understand the importance of family anyways.

If i were your fiance and knew that there even is the question of which to cancel, I would leave you right there at the altar, no kidding.

i think u r lucky to be in such a dilemma. First, You are getting MARRIED!!! (i probably place an emphasis on this cuz i m a girl and i am single at 23, lol)
Second, u are invited at HARVARD! I am sure you have an acceptance somewhere else by now. probably. I wouldnt even tell my fiance about switching the wedding date, dont even try to do that as it will make him feel this small. DONT DO THAT AT ALL. You want to start off married life with a good start. Call/email harvard for a reschedule, and tell them you have been planning your wedding and that you cannot switch it around because there are so many ppl flying in on that day, or something like that. its a wedding not just any other day!
so good luck! and congrats!!!!
i envy u.

That's probably why you're still single... lol

Does Harvard interview on the weekend? Or did you schedule your wedding on a weekday?

That's a very selfish thing to say....If this was your case....you should be happy to date someone smart enough to get an interview invite to HARVARD! Also if he gets accepted...you can tell all your friends you are dating a HARVARD student! Think about it as a POSITIVE! I mean do you want to end up with a bum vs. a Harvard grad? 😉

I think you should cancel your wedding bc if this question is serious then you may not be ready to get married.

Go to the interview.

lol no brainer, choose interview....think about it, if you get into harvard then you'll have any girl you want.

Multitask my good man - ask your interviewer to perform the rites.

This is got to be a joke. If not, I feel sorry for the fiance.

why? she has a chance to marry a harvard graduate and get the luxury to stay at home/do nothing later on.... How many people get that kind of luck? 😛
Just because he chooses the interview over the wedding DOESN'T mean he is NOT going to marry her at all.

I would dump my boyfriend and move to boston if Harvard accepts me...No regrets!

I realize this, but I'd rather have a man not even flinch when it comes to choosing me over something else. It should be a no-brainer.

*Sigh* Romanticism is dead.

dude, you can move the interivew date..... it is really not a big deal... and if you tell them that you are getting married on that date how mad can they get? think less of you? I am pretty sure that fellow doctors understand others things than just oral path and surgery. Common, this should not even be a question..... you do not have to choose one or the other..... move the interview a week back or something.... if you are already into a good dental school which you are happy with then who cares.... most people with interviews from harvard probably have a good 2nd choice.....

He knows this already. Geez. He's just playing around with the idea.

Did nobody else notice that the OP's profile mentions that she is female in her profile? Not that it matters, butI thought people could stop saying " haha now he can get any girl he wants".

As to the original post, definitely call and move your interview. Marriage is the best, and this IS the person you will be spending the REST of your life with... the admissions committee will understand.

omg she is female! haha, awesome

Who said you got to be sexy to get girls. It helps, but I'm pretty sure that most girls would pick a rich man over a sexy one.
