research science is a 9-5 weekday job, and I'm working in a lab right now while in school but I want more. Does anyone know of any creative medical/biotech/research jobs on the weekend? I'm also interested in picking up something in government or finance as an extra.

Yeah. None of the labs I worked in were 9-5.
