Weird question- would Clash of Clans (mobile game I played for 8 years) count as a hobby?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you proud of your participation? Did it teach you anything? What effect does it have on you/why do you play?
These are the exact questions that got me thinking because it is a game that requires team participation, even though its all virtual. Its definitely skill building, social, helped me "teach" through discord, and it has been a pretty important part of my life. Even though its just a stupid game in other people's eyes!

I’d be careful. I love a good video game too and you can learn a lot, but there is a stigma about people who play a lot of video games and having no social skills or being weird

I see no problem with listing it as a hobby, or even using it as a topic for your "anything else" essays, as long as it is clear from the rest of your application that you have a variety of interests, and can interact well with other people. We're all different, and that's not a bad thing!
