So I have a bit of an unconventional situation, I was a pre-health student early in my college career and first semester Junior year I had a little bit of an identity crisis and switched from Bio to Computer Science. Since then my GPA hit the rocky road so to speak, but through life experiences of wanting to work CS in the health-field to wanting to interact and develop relationships with patients I'm looking to apply to Dental. Long story really short.
Thing is I'm worried my cGPA of 3.3 will hold me back, I have a strong downward trend with C's/D's the past two semesters. My sGPA is going to be a 3.82 and my bcpGPA a 3.9 when I apply... so yeah... I screwed up in a field I had no interest in. All my pre-reqs are done as well. How much weight is given to each statistic? I would love to get into some schools with a ~3.6 GPA average but how realistic is that?
I'm "going HAM" as they say with 18 credits of pure science next semester to show I still have my mojo. And taking down the DAT but will doing a bit misguided soul searching cut me off getting into Dent?
