I applied to Thomas Jefferson MD/PHD, and got an interview in mid November. They are one of the largest MD/PHD programs in the country, and they said we would hear back from them in 3-6 weeks. I still haven't heard back, nearly 14 weeks later. Not one word, letter, email or phone call.

Finally fed up, I called the school to make sure there was no problem on my end. The woman in the MD admission's office said that there had been a decision made on my file, but they would notify me in time. She went on to say that the news "looks good."

It has been 2 weeks since that call and I still haven't heard anything.

I am thinking since that was the MD office, maybe I got into the MD program but I'm still being discussed in the phd program? I don't know what to make of it. Since she said it "looks good" that has to mean I got in, since being waitlisted does not "look good."

Any thoughts? This is SO frustrating.

Purely speculation, but maybe they reviewed you for the MD part and said you were good but the PhD program has yet to make a decision. People who apply MD/PhD do get accepted for MD only every year.

14 weeks is a bit excessive. Can you e-mail one of your interviewers or possibly one of the MD/PhD coordinators directly?

Other posters have mentioned missing a notification e-mail that had ended up in their spam folder. You might recheck your settings to be sure that doesn't happen to you.

Why not also touch base with someone from the PhD side of admissions and see what that office says.

I don't blame you for being anxious. If you find out more, please let us know.
