Incoming First Years (pgy-2s)...

Congratulations on entering your first year of residency in ophthalmology, ocular and orbital surgery. Its too late to turn back now!

Just remember, it is considered a sign of weakness if you have to call your upper level resident in. You will never get to to do any surgery if you are considered weak. If you have a question, just figure it out. Never, NEVER call your upper-level. Enjoy! :meanie:

Remember- transfers from outside hospitals, referals from community ophthalmologists who don't want to follow patients over the weekend, etc. aren't dumps, but "valuable learning opportunities". 🙂

P.S. I am very happy to pass on that 1st on-call pager 😉 .

but more important, you're keeping the city of baltimore's community ophthalmologists in a wonderful lifestyle. 😉

i'm scared to inherit that 1st call pager 😱

but i am excited to sign-out my patients tomorrow to the next wave of eager-beaver internal medicine interns. 😀

Yeah, me too! BTW, I will be on-call June 30th for IM and will be on-call for ophtho on July 1st! I am happy though that it'll be a totally different experience. 🙂
