Worked my butt off, scoring a 98 on exam 2 and a 95 on the final, for an overall grade of 93. I'm not exaggerating when I say the class was literally "here's the textbook, here's your quiz/exam dates, see yah".. I'm pretty happy about that and I am well above the class average. After my first exam grade of 86% I was already doubting my future.. Things are looking up now.

I'm probably going to end up with a B in statistics, I'm sitting on an 89 right now with a 90 on my last exam, and for the life of me, stats just doesn't click with me.

My only other class this quarter is intro to psych, which is total fluff and I somehow have an A after putting in almost 0 effort.. Next quarter is complete fluff too which I'm not thrilled about, but they are all req'd courses. I believe I have Sociology 100, English 102, and Humanities 111 🙄

Thanks all for the support, how did everyone elses summer quarter go?

Good, 'A' on Human Anatomy and 'A' on Human Biology. The Human Anatomy class was "here's the textbook, now go" like your bio class.

A in Gen Chem! First science class in 7 years, AND at a big state uni. When I went to undergrad at my small private school, it seemed like Bs were gifted almost at will. Here at Large State School... yeah, not so much. Very proud of that A.

Now for Orgo and Physics!

This summer I had microbiology, I really really liked it- was shocked, I didn't expect to! The subject is rockin and the labs were very cool. Maybe my best class so far, certainly my highest overall science finish -ever- with a 98 😀 Contrast that to last semester being thankful for the B+ in intro chem 😱 I was seriously sweating that class. Lucky me, same teacher for Gen Chem 1 this semester <ugh> In a week and a half I start gen chem 1 and gen bio 1. Since my chem teacher is as helpful as a rock, I have adopted Sal Khan as my new chem teacher 😍

A+ in General Human Anatomy and A+ in Statistics this summer.
The Anatomy class required a lot of studying on my own - most that I ever studied for any subject ever. Statistics was way too easy compared to that. Will start Chem 2 and Physics 2 next week. Had A+'s in both Chem 1 and Physics 1 in the Spring along with an A in Developmental Biology (embryology).
What do you find so hard about Statistics ?

Its not really hard, I just don't find it to be much of a math class, an my stats class is horribly laid out. As an example, last weeks lesson was confidence intervals with absolutely no explanation as to their purpose. Its also very definition heavy...

I dunno, I really like math, but I don't like stats, so I don't study as much as I should..

stats is definitely one of those classes that can be really good or absolutely horrible depending on how it's taught. i've had both types. Congrats on your successes gang.

It's a bummer no one counts the + part

Yeah, I agree with the "+" part. They will sure nail you with a "-" though. I got an A- a couple years ago when I had my second baby, however he was worth it!

We probably took it from the same professor. It was fun though. Good thing your institution gives +/-. My college just gives the letter grade, which sometimes is nice if you earn a 90% and still says "A".

The A+ just looks nicer on the transcript, but thats it. I wish it got higher than a 4.0, though. At least, it makes me feel slightly better.

Statistics was very formula pr graph driven for me and there were not too many of them to remember and apply. To me, it required less effort than say Chemistry or Physics or Calculus and way less effort than Anatomy or Physiology or Immunology.

I just found out I got an A in Human Anatomy and Physiology 2. I got an A in A&P 2 earlier this summer, too. It was my favorite class so far.

I'm taking ochem 1 and physics 1 this fall. (Labs are built in to all of our science classes.) I was going to take microbiology as well but I have to get a part-time job and it doesn't seem feasible with three science classes.

I have been deleting my sig on the trad boards because it annoys them but it's different over here, where everyone roots each other on. I'll keep it on this thread because I am still in the process of talking myself into doing this, full steam ahead!

A in stats
97 and 97.5 in Bio 3 and Bio 3 Lab. Finals are this week, each counts for 50% of my final grade, and for some reason I'm posting here instead of studying...

I just found out my mom got me free credits at BU, saving me huge money. 😀

Bio 1- A+
Bio 2- A
Chem 1- A
Chem 2- A!!!

It was a rough summer. One course per month since May!! So glad to be done. I'm American but studying in Canada where A+ is actually counted in the GPA (it's a 4.5 how ridiculous does that sound?). I actually think it's better the American way--where an A+ just sort of a little nice thing people see when they look at your transcript, befitting the bit of extra effort and luck it takes to get it! You can imagine how snobby people sound when they say they are shooting for an A+, it sounds much more presumptuous and pretentious than to say you want an A! But it does raise their GPA's so... as for me, all I care about is my AMCAS gpa!!

Good luck in fall term! I'm taking orgo, physics and animal physiology. We can do it you guys!!

Just found out that i got a 100% on my Bio 3 lab final. 😀

100 A+P questions, not 1 wrong. Sorry... had to let that out. Studying for my lecture final now, gotta get my head back into the game.
