With it being the end of January I have come to the conclusion that this is not my year.

Other than the 4 rejections I receieved befor the new year, I have heard bupkis from anyone. No interview invite, nothing. and I have been complete since November 1.

I guess it is for the best being that my wife and I are expecting our 3rd child in May and I have to sign up my 5 year old for kindergarten for the next school year.

I am all MCAT studying now when I am not at work so there is no reason for me to not get the extra few points my #1 choice wants me to get.

I write this, still shaking my head and not getting it. But then again, how many of us do. I KNOW that my my top choice wants me but needs me to get a few more points. They even told me that they will hold my application and interview me closer to the MCAT. But as we all know, what the head knows the heart knows not.

Well.....back to work. ho hum ho hum.

best of luck to you emt2er. i feel the same way, even with everybody saying "schools are still sending out interview invites!" i can't help but feel discouraged. i am working full time and taking a couple of classes right now, and have decided to put off retaking the mcat till august when i have more time. since i feel like there's no point in retaking it without studying my butt off and scoring significantly higher than my first one. i'm sure you will kick butt on the april mcat and get into your top choice.

good luck to both of us, and congratulations on your 3rd child!

Did you apply only to allopathic schools? I'm not sure about the timeline, but I can't help but feel that it's still too early to be giving up 🙁

Either way, best of luck to you on the MCAT :luck: I've taken it multiple times and remember the pressure and anxiety associated with re-studying for it.

🙁 well, good luck with studying and with next year. it sounds like it really might be for the best since you'll maybe have some more time to spend with the new kiddo. i honestly think even without the new mcat, you can get into some do school. i remember you posting about only applying in a limited geographical area -- if you stretch that out, i think you'll get in.

I spoke to my wife about this. When I get my new MCAT score, I will be consulting with my top choice to determine if they agree with doing Early Decision. If not, then she has agreed to move more towards the west coast as long as we are not in the middle of a corn field. And I am applying strictly DO next cycle and not a mix of MD and DO.

Sorry to hear about that, but enjoy the time with your new child. 🙂
