We're baaaack!

This forum made possible through the generous support of
SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

I've been going crazy!!! Instead of SDN, I've been going to eBay...bad idea. I'm now about $100 poorer.😕 I'm not even sure what I won.

Yea, it's finally back!!!

Yay! I've been going through SDN-withdrawl...

How has everyone been filling the time? I went to Miami for a short vacation, it was so nice! 😀 rpames, what cool stuff did you get from ebay???

I got an optometric tie. It looks really nice, it has an eye chart, a few saying like, "Which line is better?" I also won a framed painting of an early 1900 classroom for my fiance, her birthday is in a couple weeks and she is doing her student teaching right now. Both of those things cost only about $10 each. The item that was slightly more expenceive is a Visor edge. I have a Visor Prism, but it is pretty heavy to carry around in a lab coat. Also the color screen on it suck the battery like crazy. The Edge is much lighter and thinner, plus the battery is said to last 4 weeks. It does not tell the number of hours. It will be nice for next year. Thats it I think...and hope!😀

The last thing I got off ebay was a color game boy. Why? I dunno. It's not as much fun as it used to be. I still want to get tetris, but usually shipping is more than the game itself. In Peds, they mentioned that game boy can be used as a vision therapy tool - this made me feel less silly for buying it.

cpw, you are evil for sending me an email about sdn being back up 🙂

rpames, your scrubs avatar is cool.

I went on ebay this past week too!!!! GrrrRrrRrrr I was being so good too. I was able to stay away from buying stuff for the past month. SDN withdrawal SUCKS!!! 🙁

Muahahahha.. it's all part of my evil plot to get EVERYONE to procrastinate from studying for our path test.

And like we needed an excuse to play gameboy. 😉 But, hey, anything to get the kids to do the vision therapy. 😎

Hema,
I made the avatar myself!😀 It is really easy if you download free GIF animation software from www.downloads.com. Scrubs is one of my favorite shows. The others are ER (of course)and M*A*S*H*. My favorite shows always deals with medicine.

Great, now I'm 'busy' making my own gifs and excessively reading sdn posts. Scrubs is such a great show. It cracked me up when JD sang ?she?s got jungle fever.? I also like Ed, so it was a treat when Tom Cavanaugh played JD?s brother a while back. They look strangely alike. Back to making gifs? I mean studying path.

rpames -- my husband has a Visor Edge, and it's really nice. He says it keeps its charge for about a month and recharges quickly. (When I read you were replacing a "prism" at first I thought you were talking about some kinda optometric instrument... 😉 )

I like reading books about medicine -- I'm about 1/2 way through Atul Gawande's "Complications" about his experiences as a surgical resident. It's really interesting and well-written.
