I'm wondering about this thing that I just realized today. Its weird speculation.

Me and a buddy applied to the same out of state school.

He submitted his supplementals earlier than I did and received an interview request soon afterwards.

I submitted my supplementals later than he did (but within 2 weeks after him) and received an interview soon after.

Weird thing is my given interview date is BEFORE his. What does that mean? Does it just simply mean that another person simply didn't like that date and choose another day so that a spot opened for me?

Also, I am feeling quite down now 🙁 because I just changed the intreview date to a way-way later date (like one month later). You guys think I'm quite dumb for doing that huh? I feel regret on this, but definitely it would jeopardize my chances a bit. I definitely cannot make it on that certain day. Anyhow :luck:.

Why don't you think that you are better candidate than your friend therefore, you are selected first. Is that make you feel better? Good for you

Being later in interviews isn't such a horrible thing. From what I've read about some schools, they tend to trickle acceptances throughout the cycle, saving the majority (or at least a big portion) for somewhere near the end.
