Yeah...give speech and language pathology a shot at it. I haven't ever seen "full recovery" type results, but the SLP might be helpful in setting up some sort of compensatory program that increases the person's function.

Hard to treat even with speech path because people with W.E. have a receptive component to their aphasia: they are babbling away but have no idea what you are trying to tell them, so they can't really follow instruction well. Contrast this to Broca's patients, who understand what you tell them but just can't get things out -- much easier to work with.
