Hi there,

I'm interested in applying to solid, academic West Coast Peds programs, and would love to hear your opinions on any of the following:

Seattle
UCSF
UCSF/Fresno
Stanford
Denver (not technically West Coast, but close enough)
OHSU
UCLA
Childrens LA
Oakland
UC Davis
UCSD

If you've worked in, applied to or rotated through one of these programs, let me know what you think! Thanks!

I haven't been out to any of these programs, but am considering applying. Here are some opinions I've heard from others:

Colorado - EXCELLENT place. Friend went, loved it, now an attending there.
Seattle - same friend didn't like it due to HIGH emphasis on primary care
LA - there is some weird stuff going on there, like combining of the programs (Cedars Sinai and UCLA). I've been trying to contact them with questions about this and they have yet to return ANY emails of phone calls.

On top of quality, what is the step 1 cutoff for these programs? How much does step1 score play a role in getting interviews and getting matched?
