Hi folks,

If anyone knows or has heard about the PDs (psych residency PD or the child psych fellowship PD) at the following programs, I'd like to know a little about them.

Programs: UCSF, Stanford, UCD, UCI, UCSD, USC, OHSU, UCLA, U Wash

What I want to know about the PDs:
1) How open-minded are they? Do they like trying new things?
2) How's their relationship with the Peds PD?
3) If it's the psych residency PD, how do they feel about child psych?
4) Do they have a philosophy about the medical/psych split in our training?

Any and all information that you might have heard about the PDs at these programs will be valued and appreciated.

Thanks!

Goodness gracious me, you're definitely taking this to a place I didn't anticipate. 🙄

Before anyone else gets funny ideas, let me explain.

I'm very interested in the triple board programs (peds + psych + CAP), but there are none on the west coast (closest = hawaii and utah), so I'm contemplating asking some of the PDs if they're interested in developing a triple board program, and offering myself as a gineau-pig in exchange for getting to do what I want where I want.

So for each institution, I'm trying to gather information about the PDs so I can figure out whom to approach first, and at which institutions I might have a shot. (I realize that the ACGME will have things to say about this, and that it is not simple or easy -- I'm just trying to get a sense of whether it's remotely possible at all.)

there's no way in hell a program is going to develop a triple board program just for you. what could you possibly say to them to make this happen? ABSLOUTELY NOTHING!

what makes u think u are so special that the rules can be changed for u?

newsflash: the world doesn't revolve around u. if you really are set on these triple board programs, apply to the ones that exist. u will have to "put up" with the less than desirable locations.

Thanks, buddy. I was thinking along the lines of a program that might already be contemplating the idea, but it's good of you to put me in my place.

Why dont you just start your own resideny program in So cal and be the first triple boarded program out there-I hear it does not take a heck of a lot more than a few doctors who are willing to set up and do the paper work
