Hey,

Does anybody know how many people are on the alternate list at western? and What are the chances of getting in as an alternate? How do they choose who to accept on the alternate list? because the alternate list is not ranked.

did anyone get accepted yet as an alternate for this cycle?

i am on the alternate list. I believe the list is random. and i believe i heard somewhere on here that 4 alternates got in last year, but that was only from this site i guess. And when i tried to create a thread, you know how it gives u suggestions of other similar threads, i picked one of them and there was a stat in there some said that i think they had 80 spots on the alternate list. i may have misanalyzed that tho so u should do that and try to figure out as well. but i believe for now they hvae accepted 40 deposits so far.

I couldn't find a thread on alternate list from last year. I tried to look for the list you said from the similar threads, but not all of them are pre-dental. Some of them were for western's DO program and pharmacy program. Are you sure you were looking at the right program?

I dont see it in any of the post..do you mind telling me the username of the post?

pupsingh, have you spoken to the people at admissions regarding alternate status? I only find information on alternate list at western from 2009 cycle and I don't really see any for the 2010 cycle.

i was on the alternate list last year and i heard that the way in which they pick people off of the alternate list was based on finding someone similar to a person that decided not to attend western. example if there is a student that was asian and had a 3.3 and 200 hours of community service then they would try to find a student off of the alternate list that fit that criteria. ie asian student with 3.3 and around 200 hours of cs. I heard they do this so that they can keep a similar student pool. This may be completely wrong since this is what i heard from someone that graduated from the DO program so take it with a grain of salt.

biggestgreen, did you get accepted from the alternate list at western last year?

Any movement? Does anyone know if they have a full class?

Beyond all questions you are right.

John7, would you mind a bit of clarification? Are there only 40 spots filled? Or are you agreeing with the selection process?

Thanks!

Hey guys, I got in last year and I was on the alternate list, I really don't know how it works, but just to give you guys some hope some hope; I was accepted late May, I believe on the 25 or something like that. So there is still a chance literally up until end of summer because people make last minute decisions.

Oh and Western ROCKs btw🙂 and I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys!

Hey Holopeachy1, Do you know if Western still accept people off the alternate list after the orientation week?

Thanks for the information! Do you know how many alternates were accepted?

Sorry for the late reply, honestly I dont know exactly how many were picked from the alternate, but there were atleast 5 that I know of, if not more, I also noticed that most students that were picked off the alternate list were locals from southern California. I hope that help

Hi Guys!

I am on the alternate list and I was wondering if anyone knew good potential housing places or where to find a non-sketch roommate?

Thanks!
